Even though you don’t text me And you no longer call me I’m sitting here all lonely And I can’t get over you I’m feeling really helpless It’s tragic and excitin’ Like schizophrenic lightnin’ Can’t get over how much I need you How much I want you How much I care Can’t get over how much I miss you How much I want you How much I care It’s really something tragic Yet beautiful and magic No matter how I try I just can’t get over you Your smile is disarming You’re chronically charming It’s really quite alarming And I cant get over you Can’t get over how much I need you How much I want you How much I care Can’t get over how much I miss you How much I want you How much I care Darlin, I miss you I need you, I want you, yeah Can’t you tell that I miss you I need you, I want you, yeah Can’t get over How much I need you How much I want you

I met you in a distant dream Feels like a far off fantasy Slowly you faded out my reach Where’d you go now? Where’d you go now? You left my heart feeling the blues Sitting alone thinking of you That’s when he walked into the room Where’d you go now? Where’d you go now? And he talks with me like you never could And he looks at me like you never would He probably loves me more than he really should And it feels like something more More than we ever had Oh, it feels like something more More than we ever had It feels like something more Doesn’t it make you sad At one point I thought we could be Something so perfect and complete But I was foolish to believe Where’d you go now? Where’d you go now? And he looks at me like you never would And it feels like something more Oh it feels like something more More than we ever had Oh, it feels like something more More than we ever had It feels like something more Doesn’t it make you sad

I don’t know what’s real anymore Everything feels so unsure What’s all this confusion for I thought we had crossed that shore But now we’re back At a place I hoped we’d never be And now it’s packed
With lies and insecurities I can keep a secret Lock in my mind Try to feign perfection But my heart can’t lie I could tell our story Change up every line Hide in this illusion But my heart can’t lie Trying hard to keep my cool Words like knives can be misused Acting like a superstar No one wants to see these scars ‘Cause now we’re back At a place I hoped we’d never be And now it’s packed With the fear of losing everything I can keep a secret Lock in my mind Try to feign perfection But my heart can’t lie I could tell our story Change up every line Hide in this illusion But my heart can’t lie My heart can’t lie Baby, don’t you know me at all I love you to the stars But, Baby, if you knew me at all You’d know I can’t betray my heart I can keep a secret Lock in my mind Try to feign perfection But my heart can’t lie I could tell our story Change up every line Hide in this illusion But my heart can’t lie

I do not own you I cannot control you We are both just human So I’m letting you go This is me accepting No longer resisting You are your own person So I'm letting you go Go, oh oh, oh, oh, oh Finally letting go, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh I’ll never be perfect I’m just a mortal human And you are just like me so I’m letting you go I don’t know the future It’s all an adventure I’m learning to embrace it So I’m letting you go Go, oh oh, oh, oh, oh Finally letting go, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh I’m fully letting go, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh Finally letting go, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh Yeah, when I finally let you go, then I know I’ll learn how to love myself first Yeah, I can I finally let you go ‘Cause I don’t need you to be happy, no! Yeah, when I finally let you go, then I know I’ll learn how to love myself first Yeah, I can I finally let you go ‘Cause I don’t need you to be happy Go, oh oh, oh, oh, oh Finally letting go, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh

about

In between sad songs and love songs, these songs are about unrequited love. It's that sentiment that leaves you with butterflies in your stomach and a dagger in your heart. I will borrow a quote from Brené Brown to capture why I wrote these songs: "Art has the power to render sorrow beautiful, make loneliness a shared experience, and transform despair into hope... Music, like all art, gives pain and our more wrenching emotions voice, language, and form, so it can be recognized and shared... [This is] the magic of all art: the ability to both capture our pain and deliver us from it at the same time."
